Breast Feeding Education

Breast milk is uniquely custom-made for each baby on each specific day of its life. Only its own mother can do this perfectly for this one specific baby. No formula comes anywhere close to achieving such a miraculous super food. So you can see how critical it is to get your breastfeeding off to the right start.

Breastfeeding is good for the mother as well, helping her uterus to contract and her body respond to the new hormone changes of motherhood. Breastfeeding causes a woman’s body to produce special hormones that calm her and assist in the bonding process. BIRTH WORKS can provide qualified Lactation Educators to help you with questions or problems during the first days or weeks of breastfeeding. Or, we can help you find a support group in your area, or another mother who may have had the same problem or situation.

We provide in-home consultations and assistance at the rate of $30 per hour.
