If you are looking for more natural options than can be found in the hospital, you may be considering home birth.
Women who are medically low risk may want a home birth because:
- They want the Midwife Model of Care throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
- They want close, personal and qualified prenatal care from an expert in normal birth.
- They want to have a trusting and personal relationship with their care giver.

- They want to be in charge of their birth options and decisions.
- They want to have the comfort of being in their own “nest” during birth, where they can eat and drink what they want and have the comforts of their own bed and bathroom, etc.
- They want the security of being able to allow others into their environment rather than have strangers tell them what they can and cannot do during labor.
- They want to be able to celebrate normal, natural birth with the friends and/or family members of their own choosing.
“You told me so many compassionate and healing things about my birth – about me!”

“The birth of our fourth child was exactly what we dreamed of. The loving care from my midwife throughout our pregnancy and birth was immense. Our homebirth was so peaceful and tranquil. In just 3 hours after our midwife arrived at our house, we were holding our beautiful son and celebrating the miracle of another child. Our family is so glad to have the resources locally to fulfill that desire.”
“Thank you again Birth Works Midwives for all your dedication and work to allow Mike and me to have such a supportive midwife to birth Reid in our home. It was a magical moment for us and for that we are forever thankful.”

“Three times in 14 years; (43 hours in all). My labors were surrounded by love from the Birth Works midwives. They helped guide us to become a family each time. I marvel that I learned something new each time. At the first birth, I discovered that I was part of something greater than myself and that I wasn’t alone. At the second birth I learned to confront fear and I became strong in my voice. And most recently, with my third child, I learned how to ride through my journeys with patience. I am blessed to have shared those hours with such amazing, intelligent, wise, strong, and capable women.”
